Even worse than HOUSE OF THE DEAD?
Shatter Dead is the biggest piece of shit ever. I appreiciate trying to go in a new direction with the zombie genre, but having what is quite clearly orange jelly for brains and paper mach? zombie make up doesn't help it.
Or the whole using a gun as a strap-on cock and fucking someone with it. Or the fellating the gun dream sequence. And the fact that no one can act.
However, Dellamorte Dellamore is well worth a watch.
Even worse than HOUSE OF THE DEAD?
Whereabouts in England you from?
I'm asking coz I'm in pre-production of a zombie movie as well... we're all set to shoot last weekend in Feb...
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Okay, maybe I exagerrated. At least Scooter McRae ( ) tried something with some degree of intelligence and social commentary. Uwe Boll adapted a video game.Originally posted by The Cavity:

2004 appears to be the year of the zombie. I'm doing a zombie flick; other peeps on here are doing zombie flicks; the Dawn of the Dead remake is out, and Shaun of the Dead the same month.
Hell has reached maximum occupancy.
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Is that the one about the grave digger and his gimpy companion? If that's the one, I definitely agree its worth watching. Cool and quirky. I seem to remember the end being a bit odd, though.Originally posted by Untamed Aggression:

The WHOLE MOVIE was odd!
Dellamorte Dellamore was released in North America as "Cemetary Man", so look for it under that title at Hollywood Video. Hey, recognize the gimpy companion Noggie as one of The Octopus agents in City Of Lost Children?
Aww, and how can you say Shatter-Dead was shit? Are you jealous of their no-budget video-movie? Granted, it needed more of a budget, but some of the societal changes because of the Living Dead were directions I've never seen before or since in a Zombie screenplay.
I'm not jealous of Shatter Dead, I can assure you.
The whole societal changes idea is a good one, one that Romero's been trying to get off the ground for years with Dead Reckoning.
But you need more than a good idea for a good, or more importantly, entertaining film. How about some vaguely competent camera work? The ability to stop decending into softcore porn? Or if you're gonna do that, get some attractive actresses? I haven't seen it for ages, but those were the details I remember.
It has one good shot in it. It is on the front cover. It's all you need to see.
I got it in a batch of Screen Edge videos. I got this, Ozone (also shot on video, also shite) and Darkness (Super-8, quite good, could be shorter).
You mean "Lief Jonker's DARKNESS"? BWAHH!!
I enjoyed SHATTER-DEAD for the potential of the storyline, not the end-product. Whereas I enjoyed DARKNESS (if we're talking about the same video-movie) for the total goofiness of the end-product. Were they supposed to be retarded vampires who couldn't figure-out how to drink blood? Put 'em in the short-coffin... (as close to a 'retard' smilie as we get).
Could it be any worse than "Sexette?"
That's probably where Untamed & I part company.
If a movie (or vid) obviously doesn't have a budget, I look to the ideas & concepts first.
The ideas & concepts which were addressed in SHATTER-DEAD (although their budget couldn't fully realize its potential) puts that movie WAY above something like DARKNESS. Granted, it needed a lot of help, but it at least TRIED to twist a zombie-flick into something more meaningful.
DARKNESS wasn't trying to say or do anything that a thousand other zombie/vampire movies haven't already done a thousand times themselves. There were no fresh viewpoints to make that video stand-out among any other gore flik. It's like walking into an old classroom years after you've graduated; familiar, but a lot smaller. Knowing exactly where you stand.
